Gene Burns is well known in San Francisco and since May of 1995 has hosted the number one food, wine and travel program, Dining Around with Gene Burns. The show broadcasts across San Francisco and northern California on KGO Newstalk Radio AM 810 each Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. Dining Around with Gene Burns continues to educate listens on the latest trends in food as well as restaurant information for the region.
While in San Francisco recently for the Fancy Foods Expo, both Vic Cherikoff and I spent some time on the radio with Gene Burns and had a yarn with him about all things Australia. Apart from explaining what exactly Vegemite was, we spoke about the increasing trend of Australian Food in America and the growing interest around the world for our unique flavours.
Both Vic and I also gave listeners a sneak peek at what we were exhibiting on the Australian Pavilion at Fancy Foods. It was amazing to meet so many listeners at the Fancy Foods Show.
