Pike Place Fish Market

During the last few days in Seattle all the local folks have suggested I head on down to the Pike Place Markets and visit one of Seattle’s many food landmarks, The Pike Place Fish Market. As they like to be known as “The World Famous Pike Place Fish Market” is simply the most entertaining seafood markets I have ever visited. The produce is vast with all types of cold water fish, shellfish and shrimp available.

People come from all over the world to see the crew of fish mongers throwing fish and having fun with customers. This entertainment attracts a huge amount of customers congregating around the front of the store.

When a customer chooses an Alaskan Wild Salmon or Dungeness Crab the monger yells at the top of their voice the order, grabs the produce and literally throws it another monger who wraps and packs the order.

They pack and ship orders worldwide so why not visit their www.pikeplacefish.com

I couldn’t have visited Seattle and not created a recipe for an Australian version of Clam Chowder so be sure to check it out.
