The Australian Culinary Federation is a national organization representing professional cooks, chefs, and apprentices. Its purpose is to advise in the establishment of standards and to provide a network for chefs and other culinary workers to share ideas and social events. The Australian Culinary Federation is one of 72 member nations belonging to WACS (World Association of Chefs Societies).
The Federation is divided into eight chapters, representing the six states and two major mainland territories of Australia. The website provides links to each of these chapters. The Australian Culinary Federation offers training in hospitality management, assistance is setting up and operating a small accommodation facility, and assistance preparing for submissions for awards and competitions. It also sponsors the Australian Culinary Olympic Team which competes in the International WACS competition.
The website has a news and events section that lists awards won by members of the Australian Culinary Federation and also upcoming competitions. There is also a job centre that posts positions available and links to information about apprenticeship programs. Information about the Junior Chefs of the Australian Culinary Federation is provided on the website. The links to the other chapters provide much more information about events and competitions at a regional level and about joining.
