Variety, the Children’s Charity is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children. All children should be given the opportunity to make the most of their abilities and to achieve their aspirations and dreams.
Every year Variety raises valuable funds through numerous exciting events, which are channelled into the Variety Grants Programs which provide specialised equipment and services for children, hospitals, community groups, schools and organisations. Some of the items that Variety provides funding for; wheelchairs, walking frames, special beds, bathing equipment, hoists, vehicle modifications, sensory equipment, communications devices, special feeds, scholarship funds, liberty swings and Sunshine Coaches. However every month Variety has to turn down worthy appeals because they lack the funds.
Nationally, Variety provides around 1 million dollars a month in assistance to disadvantaged children, but much more is needed to reach all the children that need assistance.
