About this recipe

Dukkah is a traditional Egyptian spice mix which contains a variety of chopped nuts, seeds and Middle Eastern spices. However my dukkah recipe features some flavours of Australia including lemon myrtle, macadamia nuts and Vic Cherikoff’s red desert dust.

Dukkah is usually served with fresh breads and oil and you dip the bread firstly into the oil, then the dukkah spice mix. But dukkah is great in salads or on vegetable dishes.

Ingredients

30g (2 tablespoons) red desert dust
10g (2 teaspoons) sesame seeds
20g (4 teaspoons) crushed sunflower seeds
20g (4 teaspoons) crushed hazelnuts
20g (4 teaspoons) crushed macadamia nuts
20g (4 teaspoons) crushed roasted almonds
10g (2 teaspoons) lemon myrtle
5g (1 teaspoon) of salt

Cooking instruction

Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl, and serve in a small ramekin. Serve with macadmia nut oil and your favourite breads.
