Like most apprentice chefs, I was weaned on to espresso coffee pretty much at the beginning of my apprenticeship. There is no doubt that over the years that espresso coffee has helped me get through the long shifts as well as waken me up in the morning. Ok I am caffeine junkie, I admit it. I’ve had a cheap espresso machine at home for sometime, but I recently I decided to upgrade to something more substantial and professional. I guess you could say I was in search for the perfect cup of coffee.
I wanted an esprsso machine that wasn’t fully automatic, didn’t require you to buy the manufactures coffee and was easy to clean. So after looking around for ages, I decided on the Sunbeam Cafe Series Espresso Machine (model number EM6910). Sunbeam have done a great job of this esspresso machine, which they claim is designed with the help of the world’s best baristas.
What I liked most about the Sunbeam Cafe Series Espresso Machine is its ability to program the time and temperate of the extraction as well as see the espresso gauge illustrating the the quality of the espresso. But the best feature is the ability pour espresso and froth milk at the same time. This is because of the unit has both twin pumps and twin thermoblocks.
